Hatch

65 parents say it helps their toddler stay in bed.

I read 2,637 Hatch customer reviews and looked at their 150 longest-running ads.

Three reasons to buy came up again and again: toddlers who finally stay in bed, waking up on dark winter mornings, and customer service that replaces a broken device fast. So I made six ads, two for each reason.

How I'd test them

  1. Each ad runs against Hatch’s longest-running ad with readable copy, the on-call nurse’s bedtime routine video, live for about 330 days.
  2. Both run for 7 days to the same audience with the same daily budget.
  3. I’d judge on cost per purchase, or cost per add to cart if a week doesn’t bring enough sales.
  4. The toddler ads go to parents’ interests, and the winter ads launch in October.
  5. The winner gets the budget, and the next round builds on the reason that won.
